They silenced De Lima by putting her behind bars. They kicked out the Vice President from the Cabinet and attacked her by using pro-administrative bloggers who wrote false stories. The President went as far as appointing one of them into a government position. Now, the government wants to kill freedom of speech by silencing another nemesis of theirs, The Rappler.
Don't get me wrong, I've actually boycotted Rappler after one of its writers copied off one of my blogger friends and never gave her recognition. It's sad when a certain group prides themselves on journalists that merit integrity slips and stabs another writer in the stomach. Again, it's not right and I have lost respect for them. But, that's between me and Rappler.
The Security and Exchange Commission revoked the license of Rappler saying that Rappler violated the 1987 Constitution and the Anti-dummy law by the inclusion of Philippine Depository Receipts (PDR) from the Omidyar Network as investments within the company. Seems really strange that SEC would be touchy about that now when...
1. the telecom company Smart Communications uses PDR from the Salim Group of Indonesia and
2. amendments to the constitution which aim to allow foreign investors to establish companies in certain areas that were primarily exclusive to Filipinos alone are now being discussed.

It's not a secret that there is no love lost between the administration and Rappler, Rappler maintains to be one of the biggest critics of the Duterte Administration and does not back down to the hostilities garnered from the DDS (Die Hard Duterte Supporters) led by Uson and the officials themselves. Although I detest Raissa Robles (she's so stuck up even worse than Kris Aquino), it is so funny when she and the other journalist, SPO4 Pia Ranada, can pinch a nerve among the officials in the administration or either slap Uson with "we know you have rocks for brains" kind of article. I know the government has been finding ways to silence Rappler and the other media giants who are critical of the administration. Unfortunately, the way that they are trying to silence Rappler by using the SEC is ironic. It's starting to become obvious of the government's intent and it intends to control all us unsuspecting Filipinos. Yes, change is definitely coming and it's like the Khmer Rouge.
The government is targeting the individuals and groups that clearly oppose them. Killing not only the drug addicts but the opposition as well. It's fascism in the making. These are warning signs that we should not ignore.
Killing our rights when they gladly take our money in taxes is unfair. Parang wala silang mga utang na loob sa mga bumoto sa kanila.
As for the SEC, please be wary of the companies that moonlight as a legit business but, in reality are pyramiding scams. These MLM networking companies should be looked into thoroughly because they scam hardworking Pinoys out of their money.

It's becoming a pattern. You hit the government, they'll put you in jail. Kaya ssssshhhhhh na lang tayo.
