ACHO- A Social Networking Site for Musicians? A Review

I stumbled upon a site named Acho (www.acho.io) where musicians showcase their creative works, are empowered to share their music and provide musical training for eager learners. It's a social media site likened to Reddit and creates the opportunity for people, even regular joe's like you and me, who love music to collaborate with these various artists. It's such a delight to be able to engage with musicians, to know how they are able to compose such wondrous works of arts that leave our ears tingling, our bodies moving, and our heads spinning from the harmonies and melodies that they create. Linking these artists to the global community has always been a problem and the usual social media sites just don't cut it. Acho has finally come out as the solution to all those problems.

It's in its Beta testing phase but it is already fully operational. Unfortunately, it doesn't have an about page or an introduction page and the landing page looks a bit amateur with a menu bar for users to navigate through the certain services provided by the site. I was expecting the site to be bold and unconventional reflective of a musician, not boring. At least there's always room for an upgrade.
Acho Social Networking Site for
Musician and Music Learners

Let's face it, musicians who aren't exactly as famous as Beyonce, have trouble finding places to make themselves known. And I personally wouldn't exactly be able to ask Beyonce questions on how she composes her songs, let alone hire her to teach me. Because the usual social media sites focus on what's hot, trending and viral, most musicians have trouble connecting and engaging with the global community. Here, at Acho, those musicians with not enough exposure are their focus...giving them the limelight/spotlight that they deserve, without the fear of being overshadowed by what's hot and trendy at the moment. This is their place, their voice, their site... If you need them, you can find them all there.

What's cool about this site is that everything a musician has to offer to the public is all there and all you have to do is click. This site offers a question and answer portion where people may ask questions and learn from what these musicians have to say, a "wanted ads' place so you can hire any musician in your respective area for any event, an events listing where your favorite singer, orchestra, or band may be performing so you can save the date and go over and be part of the audience, and a place where one can hire a music teacher for private voice lessons, guitar lessons, drum lessons, maybe even for private cello or flute lessons. You don't have to fidget your way through Facebook or Instagram because your favorite musicians are all under one roof- ACHO.

Acho, I believe is trying to empower all musicians, big or small, by showcasing their original works, their videos, and their portfolios through the use of their site. A musician can target a specific audience for an event, for employment, for their own websites, or blogs. It also enables those on the site to trade and swap information and allow for future collaboration. I would think YouTube would be enough but, YouTube is a bit saturated with everyone trying to make their own videos and channels. I guess musicians wanted a place for themselves.

Music is a profound art and everyone, I mean everyone loves music. Some just have the natural talent for it. Doesn't mean that the majority of us who may be tone-deaf can never be musically-inclined. You never know, learning a new instrument and being able to learn how to play, can be a great way to release some stress. For our children, they can learn new things or have the opportunity to hone their talents with something as creative and inspiring as music. In all matters MUSIC- remember ACHO. For more information- log on to www.acho.io. It's where musicians and people can connect.

"Musical training is a more potent instrument than any other because rhythm and harmony find their way into the inward places of our soul."-Plato

ACHO is putting the spotlight on all musicians... creating a conduit of their art.
